Translation?
Do any of you have a strong preference for one translation over the other? I generally prefer the ESV but I know many of you use the KJV. I'm flexible on this issue if any of you have strong feelings.
I haven't read the ESV extensively, but I've appreciated it when I have. We have the NKJV and read that often, but also read the KJV, ESV, and reference other translations often so it does not matter to me. As long as we're not using the Message or something like that, (which I realize probably none of us would read that as our go-to translation). Thanks for considering others.
The Message is sooo terrible! I'm not sure there is a page of it that doesn't have something on it to make me cringe. Don't worry, I won't be using that wretched "translation." :)
I find the ESV easier to understand. I always have to look up the archaic words in the KJV

ReplyDeleteWhile I'm usually partial to KJV, I've been loving the NASB lately, lol. ESV is great with me I agree it is easier to understand.
